Beef Bourguignon with Beer

Beef Bourguignon with Beer

Preparation time: 15 min
Cooking time: 15 min
Serves 4

 INGREDIENTS

  • 2 lbs beef stew meat, cut into pieces
  • 1 yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 sliced carrot
  • 5 oz. diced thick-cut bacon
  • 5 oz chopped tomatoes
  • 1 1/4 cup amber beer
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • Salt & pepper

METHOD

Heat the pot to 2/3 of the maximum power of your stove, and test the heat using the 'water drop' technique.

Brown the pieces of beef, then add onions.

After browning for 2 minutes, add carrots and bacon and cook for 2 more minutes.

Sprinkle with flour and roast it, stirring regularly, for 2-3 minutes.

Add the beer and bring to a boil, add the chopped tomatoes and add water if needed to cover the meat.

Cover with lid and cook for about 2 1/2 hours over a low heat.

Season with salt and pepper.

Tip: You can make this recipe without tomato, just beer and water for a more pronounced beer flavor.
