Chocolate Financier Cake


  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup ground almonds
  • 3/4 cup confectioner’s sugar
  • 1 stick butter (3.5 oz)
  • 2 oz crushed dark chocolate
  • 2 oz ounces crushed white chocolate
  • 4 egg whites


Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).

1 Melt the butter on medium heat in the pan until it takes on a hazelnut color. Set aside.

2 Mix flour, ground almonds, confectioner’s sugar, and egg whites in a bowl, then add the browned butter.

3 Pour the mixture into the pan, sprinkle with chocolate and bake for 25 minutes.
