Pork and honey wok fry with basmati rice

Pork and honey wok fry with basmati rice

Preparation time: 15 min
Cooking time: 20 min
Resting time: 1 h
Serves 4

 INGREDIENTS

  • 2 lb roast pork
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 5 fl oz soy sauce
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 3 oz basmati rice

METHOD

Cut the pork into 3/4 inch (2cm) cubes.

Peel the garlic, then cut in half, remove the core and mix with the cubes of pork in a bowl.

Add the soy sauce and marinate for 1 hour in the refrigerator.

Peel the onion, remove the root and cut into four.

Heat the wok to 2/3 of the maximum power of your stove, and test the heat using the 'water drop' technique.

Add the cubes of meat, that you have drained, and brown on each side.

Add the onions and the honey and reduce the heat to 1/3.

Cover and cook for 15 min, covered, then 5 min, uncovered, to reduce the sauce to a syrupy consistency.

Cook the rice for 10 min in a pot of salted water.

Tip: You can substitute the honey with 3.5 oz sugar.
