Pork and honey wok fry with basmati rice


  • 2 lb roast pork
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 5 fl oz soy sauce
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 3 oz basmati rice


1 Cut the pork into 3/4 inch (2cm) cubes.

2 Peel the garlic, then cut in half, remove the core and mix with the cubes of pork in a bowl.

3 Add the soy sauce and marinate for 1 hour in the refrigerator.

4 Peel the onion, remove the root and cut into four.

5 Heat the wok to 2/3 of the maximum power of your stove, and test the heat using the 'water drop' technique.

6 Add the cubes of meat, that you have drained, and brown on each side.

7 Add the onions and the honey and reduce the heat to 1/3.

8 Cover and cook for 15 min, covered, then 5 min, uncovered, to reduce the sauce to a syrupy consistency.

9 Cook the rice for 10 min in a pot of salted water.

Tip: You can substitute the honey with 3.5 oz sugar.
