Spicy beef meatballs
500g of lean, tender beef
1 egg white
1 tablespoon of ground ginger
1 tablespoon of ground cumin
1 teaspoon of grated nutmeg
1 teaspoon of neutral cooking oil
1 clove of garlic
salt and pepper
3 tablespoons of Japanese soy sauce
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
1 tablespoon of mirin or rice vinegar
Chop the meat into chunks.
Put the meat, spices, salt, crushed garlic, oil and egg white into a blender. Blend until the mixture is thoroughly mixed and slightly sticky.
Form into small meatballs.
Thread 3 balls onto each skewer.
Mix all the sauce ingredients together and pour over the skewered meatballs. Cover the meatballs thoroughly with the sauce.
Grill the meatballs, basting with the remaining sauce.
garnish with the sesame seeds to serve.
