Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
1 Stuff the turkey.
2 Tie the Turkey's legs and baste with melted butter.
3 Season with salt and pepper.
4 Wash potatoes and place them in the baking dish underneath the rack. Add the garlic cloves, thyme and two tablespoons of olive oil. Salt.
5 Cook for about 3 hours in the oven and check the core temperature with the meat thermometer. The temperature must reach 185°F (85°C).
Allow the meat to cool for half an hour after removing it from the oven.
